The Human Tissue

The Human Tissue Authority (HTA) was set up to regulate the processes surrounding handling of human organs, bodies and tissue. The Human Tissue Act of 2004 replaces all previous acts relating to tissue and anatomy, and makes consent and authorisation the main principles surrounding all storage and collection of samples of tissue, DNA, bodies and anatomy as part of any scientific research, clarification, investigation or analysis.
