The test can be carried out with samples from the alleged father and the child, however we do suggest including the Mother’s sample for a more accurate result. There are cases where the alleged father cannot take the DNA test – perhaps he may be entirely unaware of it or even deceased. Relationship DNA tests can establish paternity by testing the relatives of the alleged father such as siblings, parents or grandparents.
