How does the test determine if the foetus is male or female?
At easyDNA are proud to be the first company in South Africa to offer this non-invasive laboratory based gender predictor. The methodology involves isolating foetal DNA from urine through a novel procedure specifically developed by our highly advanced genetic laboratory. Next, the purified DNA is analyzed for the presence of male and female DNA.
Presence of the male Y chromosome in the urine stream indicates that the foetus is male. Absence of male DNA indicates that the foetus is female. The above results only count if all directions for sample collection and shipment of the urine specimen are followed.
