Horse Hereditary Disease Test

Why should you opt for this Horse DNA test?

Your horse could have one or more defective genes and yet show no outward signs of the problem. DNA genetic testing is the only way how you can discover whether a certain horse is a carrier of an inherited genetic disorder or not. Unfortunately, genetic conditions cause problems that may be mild and easily managed or so severe that the affected horse has to be euthanized. Hereditary Disease testing can make your life much easier since testing can establish your horse’s genetic susceptibility to 23 different genetic diseases and help you eliminate these diseases from the breed. By identifying the horse, or horses, carrying the defective gene, you can refrain from breeding them to avoid passing unwanted traits to their foals.

Hereditary Disease testing helps horse owners just like you to be confident that their animals will not develop specific hereditary diseases or possess phenotypic traits of interest. This test can also be used by veterinarians to help confirm or exclude diagnoses of diseases! Below find the full list of hereditary diseases tested.
